About the Role

As a Configuration Analyst I, you will help maintain product configuration integrity throughout the product lifecycle by coordinating engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operational documentation. You will support configuration management processes, review engineering changes, track product data, and ensure documentation accuracy to meet business and customer requirements.

You will work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and program teams to manage product structures, change control activities, and configuration records.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and maintain project and product documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), schedules, and change records.

Review product and project requirements to determine documentation needs throughout various phases of the product lifecycle.

Support configuration management processes by maintaining accurate configuration data, including part numbers, BOMs, routings, revisions, and product structures.

Analyze proposed engineering and design changes to assess impacts on products, systems, manufacturing processes, and associated documentation.

Process and track engineering change requests (ECRs), engineering change notices (ECNs), and change orders to ensure proper review, approval, and implementation.

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and data management teams to coordinate configuration updates and change activities.

Maintain configuration records, revision histories, baselines, and related documentation to ensure data accuracy and traceability.

Monitor compliance with established configuration management procedures and data governance standards.

Prepare reports and provide status updates related to configuration management activities and change implementation.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product lifecycle management, documentation control, and configuration processes.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Basic understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

Familiarity with configuration management principles, product data management, and change control processes.

Understanding of bills of materials (BOMs), part numbering structures, revisions, and product configurations.

Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other productivity tools.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Manufacturing, or a related field.

Experience working with enterprise systems such as SAP, Oracle, Teamcenter, Windchill, or similar ERP and PLM platforms.

Exposure to configuration management, product lifecycle management (PLM), manufacturing operations, or data management processes.

Experience supporting engineering change management activities, including ECNs, ECRs, and change orders.

Familiarity with product structures, BOM management, and revision control.

Understanding of configuration management best practices, including change control, baselines, version management, and traceability.

Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments such as aerospace, defense, automotive, medical devices, electronics, or industrial manufacturing.
