Software Engineer - Fleet Mapping

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in Foster City, CA is seeking a Software Engineer - Fleet Mapping. This role will be a contributor to our client's offline mapping initiative. High-definition semantic maps are critical for enabling fully autonomous driving at scale. The Engineer will design, train, validate, and integrate models that detect semantic map elements in the world. The priority will be to enable scalable mapping pipelines through automated mapping of new features.

Responsibilities:
* Research, implement, and train ML models to perform semantic map element detection
* Curate, validate, and label datasets for model training and validation
* Integrate models into the greater offboard mapping pipeline and lead automation of new mapping features
* Leverage ML infrastructure to speed up development and deployment of ML models
* Closely collaborate with validation teams to formulate and execute model validation pipelines

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of C++ experience
* Strong understanding of networking protocols, ideally UDP
* Experience working with highly resilient distributed systems
* Excellent communication skills

Experience with any of the following is a bonus:
* Any robotics experience or 3D computer vision experience is a bonus
* Any mapping experience is a bonus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
