Senior Citrix VDI Engineer
Location: Buffalo, NY – Hybrid 4 days a week on site

Pay rate : $80 to $90
looking for a Senior Citrix VDI Engineer. This role is part of WWT’s Strategic Resourcing services and is a contract role. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT’s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.
Position Overview:
A Senior Citrix VDI Engineer to support modernization and optimization of an enterprise virtual desktop environment.
Responsibilities:
VDI Platform Engineering
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise VDI environments using Citrix technologies.
Support large?scale environments serving thousands of enterprise users.
Optimize performance, availability, and scalability. Application Delivery & Virtualization
Modernize application delivery using Citrix virtualization technologies.
Support migration from legacy packaging to modern solutions such as MSIX.
Implement modern delivery approaches including AppAttach or application layering. Infrastructure Integration
Partner with compute, networking, storage, and endpoint teams.
Ensure VDI platforms integrate with enterprise identity, security, and endpoint systems.
Support provisioning, image management, and ongoing lifecycle processes. Automation & Optimization
Automate deployments, configurations, updates, and patching.
Improve operational efficiency through scripting and workflow automation.
Troubleshooting & Support
Diagnose and resolve performance, connectivity, and user experience issues.
Troubleshoot Citrix infrastructure components including delivery controllers, brokers, and VDAs. Collaboration
Work with engineering, app development, and operations groups to ensure platform stability.
Contribute to roadmap planning and VDI modernization initiatives.
Qualifications Required
8+ years supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments.
Strong Citrix VDI engineering and administration experience.
Application virtualization experience (Citrix, MSIX, etc.).
Knowledge of AppAttach, application layering, or equivalent solutions.
Experience with enterprise?scale Windows VDI environments and VDI modernization projects.
Familiarity with image management and desktop provisioning.
Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure and application layers.
Experience modernizing large, legacy VDI environments.
Enterprise, highly regulated environment experience.
Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell).
Experience integrating VDI platforms with enterprise monitoring/security tools.
Experience supporting large enterprise infrastructure teams.
