Job Title: SAP ABAP Developer

Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid: 3 days a week to onsite) and (Tri-State - someone willing to come onsite every other week)

Duration: Full-time with ComTec

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled SAP ABAP Developer with strong experience in ABAP development to design, develop, and support custom SAP solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ABAP programming, SAP data structures, and technical development, with the ability to work closely with functional teams to deliver high-quality SAP solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain ABAP programs, including reports, enhancements, interfaces, conversions, forms, and workflows.
• Design, develop, and support custom SAP applications using ABAP programming techniques.
• Create and maintain reports, data extraction programs, and custom objects to meet business requirements.
• Develop enhancements using User Exits, BAdIs, Enhancement Framework, and Customer Exits.
• Develop and support interfaces using standard SAP technologies such as IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and file-based integrations.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in ABAP programs and custom developments.
• Perform unit testing, support system integration testing, and resolve defects.
• Optimize ABAP programs for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with functional consultants, SAP Basis, and business users to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation and follow SAP development standards and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5 8 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.
• Strong proficiency in Core ABAP programming, including Reports, Module Pool Programming, ALV, Smart Forms, SAP Scripts, Adobe Forms, Dialog Programming, and Data Dictionary.
• Experience with enhancements such as User Exits, Customer Exits, BAdIs, and Enhancement Framework.
• Experience developing interfaces using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, file-based interfaces, and ALE.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, Open SQL, performance tuning, debugging, and code optimization.
• Experience with object-oriented ABAP (OOABAP) is preferred.
• Experience with testing methodologies, including unit, system, and regression testing.
• Experience working on SAP implementation, enhancement, or support projects.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
