Summary

Job Title: ServiceNow SecOps Senior Developer
Location: Chicago hybrid
Experience: 10+ Years
 
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow SecOps Senior Developer to lead the design, development, configuration, and implementation of ServiceNow Security Operations (SecOps) solutions.
The ideal candidate will independently drive SecOps implementations, provide technical leadership and mentor to junior developers, collaborate closely with security teams, and participate in Architecture Review Boards (ARBs) by presenting and defending technical designs aligned with enterprise security standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, configure, and implement ServiceNow SecOps solutions, including:
    • Security Incident Response (SIR)
    • Vulnerability Response (VR)
    • Threat Intelligence
    • Configuration Compliance
  • Develop and maintain:
    • Business Rules
    • Client Scripts
    • Script Includes
    • Flow Designer workflows
    • UI Policies
    • ACLs
    • Integrations
  • Lead technical solution design and prepare High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents.
  • Participate in Architecture Review Boards and confidently present and defend technical designs and implementation strategies.
  • Integrate ServiceNow with security platforms such as:
    • Microsoft Defender
    • CrowdStrike
    • Qualys
    • Tenable
    • Rapid7
    • Splunk
    • Microsoft Sentinel
    • SIEM/SOAR platforms
  • Automate security response and vulnerability remediation workflows.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce ServiceNow development standards.
  • Ensure platform scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership across the SecOps development team.
  • Collaborate with Security Operations, Risk, Compliance, Infrastructure, and business teams.
  • Troubleshoot complex platform and integration issues.
  • Support Agile delivery, source control, and CI/CD practices.
Required Technical Skills
  • 10+ years of ServiceNow development experience.
     
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Security Incident Response (SIR)
    • Vulnerability Response (VR)
    • Threat Intelligence
    • Configuration Compliance
    • CMDB
    • Discovery
    • IntegrationHub
    • Flow Designer
  • Strong ServiceNow platform administration and scripting experience.
  • Proficiency in:
    • JavaScript
    • Glide APIs
    • Script Includes
    • Business Rules
    • Client Scripts
    • REST/SOAP integrations
