We combine advanced machining, disciplined quality systems, and practical problem-solving to produce components where accuracy, traceability, and reliable delivery matter.

The Opportunity

The NPI Engineer leads new and transferred products from customer drawing and contract review through process development, first article approval, and production release.

This is a hands-on manufacturing engineering role. The successful candidate will have direct experience developing production processes for CNC-milled or turned components.

What You Will Do
  • Lead new product introductions from technical review through production handoff.
  • Review customer drawings, models, specifications, purchase orders, and quality requirements.
  • Develop complete manufacturing plans, including routers, bills of material, work instructions, inspection requirements, tooling, fixtures, and outside processing.
  • Select appropriate CNC equipment, operation sequences, cutting tools, workholding, feeds and speeds, and inspection methods.
  • Coordinate prototypes, pilot runs, first articles, and initial production lots.
  • Partner with Quality on AS9102 first articles, control plans, PFMEAs, capability studies, and customer approvals.
  • Coordinate raw material, special processes, tooling, and purchased components with Supply Chain.
  • Establish cycle-time, labor, yield, and production-cost expectations.
  • Resolve launch issues and communicate risks, responsibilities, and recovery actions.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records, ERP data, revision control, and quality-system documentation.
  • Provide a clear technical handoff to programmers, setup personnel, machinists, inspectors, and production leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • At least three years of direct manufacturing or process engineering experience in a precision CNC machining environment.
  • Experience developing production processes for CNC-milled or turned components.
  • Working knowledge of cutting tools, fixtures, workholding, feeds and speeds, and process capability.
  • Experience creating routers, work instructions, setup documentation, and production-ready manufacturing packages.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Experience coordinating projects across Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Production Control.
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering, or equivalent directly relevant CNC manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to work onsite and spend regular time on the manufacturing floor.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or another regulated precision-manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with AS9100 and AS9102 first article requirements.
  • Experience preparing ballooned drawings and AS9102 Forms 1, 2, and 3.
  • Experience with PFMEA, control plans, SPC, capability studies, and corrective action.
  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience supporting both CNC milling and turning.
What Success Looks Like
  • New jobs launch with accurate and controlled manufacturing documentation.
  • First article and customer approvals are completed on schedule.
  • Machining teams receive stable processes that meet quality, cost, cycle-time, and delivery expectations.
  • Launch risks are identified early and resolved with documented follow-through.
Work Environment

This position works in both an office and an active manufacturing environment. The NPI Engineer will regularly spend time on the production floor and must be able to wear required personal protective equipment.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
