Title: AI Automation Engineer

Summary
The AI Automation Engineer designs and delivers intelligent automation and artificial intelligence solutions that enhance efficiency across the organization. This role focuses on building AI-enabled workflows and applications using modern large language model (LLM) platforms, cloud AI services, and automation technologies. The position works within an Enterprise Applications team and partners with business stakeholders and technical teams to deploy secure, scalable, and well-governed AI solutions aligned with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with business teams to identify automation and AI opportunities; translate requirements into scalable solutions that reduce manual effort.
Design and deploy intelligent workflows using Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot-based tools, and comparable automation platforms.
Architect and manage cloud AI environments, including governance standards, access controls, and separation of development, testing, and production.
Build and maintain AI-powered applications using platforms such as Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Anthropic Claude, and other appropriate AI services.
Develop custom LLM solutions incorporating prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and AI agent frameworks tailored to operational workflows.
Plan and execute pilot initiatives for emerging AI tools, defining success metrics and guiding production adoption decisions.
Integrate AI and automation solutions with enterprise systems including document repositories, operational platforms, CRM tools, and Microsoft 365 applications.
Evaluate new AI technologies and vendors, assessing security, scalability, and business fit; present recommendations to technology leadership.
Create and maintain technical documentation including architectures, workflows, integrations, and user guidance.
Monitor deployed solutions for performance, reliability, and compliance; implement enhancements and resolve issues as needed.
Ensure all solutions align with data governance, privacy standards, and responsible AI practices.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
3-5+ years of experience in automation engineering, software development, or AI/ML solution delivery in an enterprise environment.
Hands-on experience with automation platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate or Azure Logic Apps.
Working knowledge of AI and LLM platforms including Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or similar services.
Strong understanding of prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and AI workflow design.
Familiarity with AI agent frameworks, vector databases, embeddings, and cloud AI infrastructure.
Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience integrating AI APIs into enterprise applications and workflows.
Solid knowledge of Microsoft 365, REST APIs, SQL, source control, and CI/CD practices.
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
