Job Description:

Full Stack Engineer, AI - AI assistant for the generation of clinical research protocols to be reviewed by institutional review board. Also to assist in the review of protocols BY the institutional review board. We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Full-Stack Engineer to lead the product and platform development of a new AI-driven application built on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) and Vertex AI. While our core team focuses on AI modeling and agentic workflows, you will be responsible for building the robust, scalable architecture that brings these capabilities to users. This is a "coding-heavy" leadership role requiring a detail-oriented developer who can move from infrastructure setup to polished UI implementation with speed and precision.

Key Responsibilities:
End-to-End Product Leadership: Lead the development of the product's web interface, backend services, and cloud infrastructure.
Google Cloud Platform Platform Management: Design and deploy a scalable, secure environment on Google Cloud Platform, ensuring seamless integration with Vertex AI services.
API & Backend Development: Architect and implement high-performance, scalable APIs (Python/FastAPI preferred) to bridge AI agents with the front end.
Front-End Excellence: Build a modern, responsive, and intuitive UI using modern frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, or Vue).
System Architecture: Establish best practices for CI/CD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and database management to ensure long-term stability.
Collaboration: Work closely with the AI research team to translate complex agent behaviors into seamless user experiences.
Required Qualifications:
Senior-Level Experience: Minimum 5-7+ years of professional experience in full-stack development with a proven track record of shipping production-ready products.
Cloud Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). Familiarity with Vertex AI, Cloud Run, App Engine, or GKE is highly preferred.
Backend Mastery: Expert proficiency in Python (preferred) or similar backend languages, with experience building scalable microservices and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.
Front-End Proficiency: Advanced skills in modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks and CSS-in-JS or Tailwind CSS.
Detail-Oriented Engineering: Strong focus on code quality, testing, security, and performance optimization.
Product Mindset: Experience in early-stage product development; the ability to make pragmatic technical decisions that balance speed with scalability.

Technical Environment:
Cloud: Google Cloud Platform (Vertex AI, Cloud Functions, IAM, Cloud SQL)
Backend: Python (FastAPI/Flask/Django)
Frontend: React / Next.js / TypeScript
DevOps: Docker, GitHub Actions, Terraform (preferred)

This contractor will help augment capacity for eCMU, eHospital, Masimo and Palantir projects. Develop, maintain, implement, support these platforms at different sites.
