Job Summary
The Business Systems Analyst plans, designs, develops, and launches efficient business, financial, and operations systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This role involves gathering and analyzing data for business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements, as well as generating reports complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. The ideal candidate applies proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.
General Tasks and Responsibilities
Technical & Product Ownership
- Own the functional requirements link between the customer, development team, and third parties regarding software functionality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Collect, understand, and transmit business requirements for projects, translating them into functional specifications and detailed test plans.
- Ensure technical issues are identified, tracked, reported on, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Communicate needed changes effectively to the development team.
- Apply a strong understanding of application programming, database structures, and system design.
Project Execution
- Assist in the enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
- Communicate and apply established project standards.
- Manage resources in accordance with the project schedule.
- Produce weekly reports for the Project Manager showing progress against outstanding milestones, status, resource requirements, issues, risks, and dependencies.
- Manage day-to-day change requests in relation to project plans to ensure agreed-upon deadlines are met.
Analysis & Documentation
- Analyze, map, and document business processes.
- Document workflows and results of business analysis, obtaining formal sign-off from clients on specifications.
Communication & Collaboration
- Schedule and arrange meetings or workshops necessary to maintain project momentum.
- Deliver informative, well-organized presentations to stakeholders.
- Understand how to communicate difficult or sensitive information with diplomacy and tact.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Experience & Technical Skills
- Experience in remote and on-site technical support, preferably within a healthcare setting.
- Proven experience with software implementation, integration, and application support (both client-server and web-based).
- Good understanding of network, security, and database management principles (SQL, MySQL, etc.).
- Practical scripting experience (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication, customer service, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Positive attitude with the ability to handle stress and work under pressure.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently without micromanagement.
