Job Title: Senior Systems Administrator
Location: 4-5 Days On-Site, NYC

The Role
This team is looking for a senior Systems Administrator with deep expertise in Windows environments and Microsoft cloud technologies to take ownership of day-to-day IT operations. This person will be a hands-on technical lead, responsible for maintaining stability, driving improvements, and supporting a high-performance corporate environment.

You'll serve as the key link between the Head of IT and on-the-ground execution, bringing both strong technical depth and the ability to introduce structure, documentation, and scalable processes as the organization grows.

What You'll Do - IT Operations & Infrastructure
  • Oversee daily administration of Windows-based systems, including Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, DFS, WSUS, Hyper-V, and Terminal Services
  • Manage Microsoft cloud environments across M365 and Azure (Entra ID, Storage, Enterprise Apps, Networking, VMs)
  • Support Windows 10/11 endpoints and core productivity tools
  • Administer endpoint management and device security platforms
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across hybrid (on-prem + cloud) environments
  • Support multi-site, multi-domain, hybrid Active Directory setups

What You'll Do - Process, Support & Enablement
  • Define and implement best practices for troubleshooting, ticketing, and escalation
  • Train and mentor junior team members to elevate overall team capability
  • Build and maintain clear documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks
  • Deliver high-quality end-user support across phone, email, chat, and remote channels
  • Ensure a polished, high-touch experience for all users, including executives
  • Partner with the Head of IT on specialized support needs (e.g., principal/residential tech)

What You'll Do - Systems, Network & Security
  • Diagnose root causes and proactively prevent recurring issues
  • Support enterprise WiFi systems (e.g., Aruba)
  • Apply networking and security best practices in daily operations
  • Participate in on-call escalation as needed
  • Contribute to backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
  • Support compliance initiatives (e.g., SOC 2, financial services standards)

What They're Looking For
  • Strong experience with Windows Server ecosystem (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, DFS, WSUS, Hyper-V, Terminal Services)
  • Expertise in Microsoft cloud platforms (M365, Azure, Entra ID, Storage, Networking, VMs)
  • Proficiency with Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience administering Linux systems (Debian, Fedora)
  • Skilled in troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues
  • Experience managing hybrid AD environments across multiple domains/sites
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace
  • Experience with endpoint management tools and device security
  • Exposure to AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform
  • Scripting experience (e.g., PowerShell)
  • Knowledge of enterprise WiFi systems (e.g., Aruba)
  • Solid understanding of networking and security fundamentals
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field-or equivalent hands-on experience and certifications.
