SCCM Engineer
The Image Engineer is responsible for engineering, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows device images and OS level configurations across enterprise environments. The role focuses on application packaging, Microsoft Intune device management, Windows OS troubleshooting, and ensuring stable, secure, and standardized end user builds.
The engineer owns image lifecycle activities and provides advanced support for OS level issues impacting end user computing.
• Design, build, maintain, and deploy standardized Windows desktop/laptop images.
• Manage OS image lifecycle, including updates, patches, and version upgrades.
• Ensure images comply with enterprise security, compliance, and configuration standards.
• Troubleshoot imaging failures, build issues, and post deployment OS problems
• Package applications using enterprise standards (MSI, EXE, scripting where applicable).
• Test packaged applications for compatibility with Windows OS versions and images.
• Deploy applications via Microsoft Intune and other enterprise deployment tools.
• Resolve application installation, upgrade, and conflict issues at OS level.
• Manage devices using Microsoft Intune for configuration, compliance, and application deployment.
• Create and maintain Intune policies, profiles, and device configurations.
• Troubleshoot Intune enrollment, policy application, and deployment issues.
• Support hybrid and cloud managed endpoint environments.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for Windows OS issues (boot failures, performance, patching, profile issues).
• Analyze logs, event viewers, and system diagnostics to identify root causes.
• Resolve issues related to drivers, updates, OS corruption, and system configurations.
• Work closely with desktop support teams to resolve escalated OS level incidents.
• Own Level 2/Level 3 incidents related to imaging, OS, and endpoint engineering.
• Participate in change management for image updates and OS releases.
• Document image standards, build procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Contribute to knowledge base articles and continuous improvement initiatives• Strong expertise in Windows desktop operating systems.
• Hands on experience with OS imaging, build engineering, and image deployment.
• Proven experience in application packaging and deployment.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Intune (Endpoint Manager).
• Advanced troubleshooting skills at Windows OS and system level.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools and enterprise EUC environments.
• Preferred to have Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102).
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work independently on complex OS level issues.
• Clear communication with support teams and stakeholders.
• Customer focused mindset in SLA driven environments
• 8+ years of experience in Windows engineering, imaging, or EUC roles.
• Experience in large enterprise or BFSI environments is preferred.
• Microsoft or endpoint management certifications are an advantage
• Enterprise EUC / Windows engineering environment
• Close collaboration with Desktop Support, Security, and Infrastructure teams
• Business hours with change or deployment related activities as required
