Role Overview
This role is a mobile client-focused position supporting discovery experiences for new music content across voice and visual platforms. The developer will work closely with backend services but will primarily contribute to mobile application development and client-side integrations. This position focuses on helping users find and engage with new tracks, artists, and recommendations that encourage discovery and playlist additions.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute primarily to mobile application development and client-side integrations.
- Develop solutions for incoming production software application issues related to merchandising applications.
- Design and consume REST APIs, handling authentication, request/response models, and error states.
- Develop monitoring solutions, troubleshoot and debug internally developed code.
- Integrate mobile clients with backend services, understanding service designs for effective collaboration.
- Improve systems that gather metrics on features, and automate support processes.
- Work on updating and enhancing current software and documenting systems.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Computer Science or equivalent technical degree is required.
Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience is required. Candidates should have hands-on experience shipping mobile features in production environments and understand mobile performance, reliability, and user experience at scale.
Technical Skills:- Strong proficiency in iOS (Swift) development is required.
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
- Familiarity with building and operating features in high-traffic, low-latency systems.
- Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) or microservices environments.
- Knowledge of UNIX/LINUX environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Android (Kotlin) development is preferred; candidates with strong iOS skills willing to learn Android will be considered.
- Helpful backend knowledge includes Java for understanding service designs and JavaScript/TypeScript for supporting tooling or cross-platform components.
- Familiarity with Perl, C/C++, Mason, Perl CGI, Oracle SQL, and HTML.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $50.00 and $60.00 per hour.
