Electrician - Journeyman (Manassas, VA)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES: 
•    Client Facilities Team is seeking a skilled and motivated Facilities Maintenance Electrician to support operations at our cutting-edge semiconductor fabrication facility in Manassas, VA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to safety and operational excellence. •    Installs, maintains, and repairs facility electrical equipment and systems. Installs electrical equipment and fixtures including circuit breakers, controllers, switches, motors, meters, conduit, relays, transmission systems, and the like. Reads and interprets blueprints, construction drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics and follows verbal instructions to plan and layout conduit, install transmission equipment and ensure proper operation of installed electrical equipment and systems. Troubleshoots electrical malfunctions to isolate and repair electrical problems. Uses a variety of test equipment to determine electrical transmission and operation problems. Uses a variety of hand and power tools to install and repair electrical equipment, fixtures, and transmission systems.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 
• Maintain and repair electrical components of facilities equipment and systems.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, including inspections and coordination with contractors.
• Apply knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and NFPA 70E; follow all safety protocols including LOTO.
• Interpret electrical one-line diagrams and perform feeder switching on redundant switchboards.
• Respond promptly to system failures and alarms, restoring equipment functionality and ensuring system reliability.
• Monitor abnormal system behaviour and collaborate with team members to resolve issues and improve performance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance, testing, calibration, and equipment performance.
• Conduct detailed preventive maintenance on complex facilities equipment using diagnostic tools and technical expertise.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on:
• Switchgear (LV / MV)
• UPS systems, batteries, and distribution panels
• Troubleshoot electrical failures and restore system uptime quickly
• Execute safe switching procedures and verify system status prior to energization

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience
β—‹ 3–5+ years of industrial/commercial electrical experience
β—‹ High voltage & medium voltage systems
β—‹ Preventive maintenance (PM); exposure to corrective maintenance preferred
β—‹ Experience in industrial environments (residential-only backgrounds not sufficient)
• Technical Skillset

β—‹ Switchgear systems
β—‹ AFD systems
β—‹ UPS systems and battery systems
β—‹ General industrial electrical components and troubleshooting
• Operational Readiness
β—‹ Ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up
β—‹ Strong hands-on maintenance and diagnostics capability
β—‹ Experience working within structured maintenance programs (PM schedules, work orders)
• Work Environment Fit
β—‹ Team-based maintenance operations
β—‹ Paired work with internal staff for site-specific processes
β—‹ Standard daytime schedule (e.g., 7–4) with routine maintenance tasks
• Screening & Evaluation Criteria
β—‹ Technical proficiency in electrical systems (validated through interview)
β—‹ Practical industrial experience over formal education alone
β—‹ Ability to explain and apply knowledge in real-world scenarios
• Interview Focus Areas
β—‹ Hands-on technical knowledge (transformers, AFDs, electrical systems)
β—‹ Industrial troubleshooting approach
β—‹ Safety awareness and high-voltage practices
• Core Certifications (preferred)
