Role information:
The contractor will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting ETL and data integration solutions that facilitate the exchange of data between Salesforce, Workday Student, and related enterprise systems. Responsibilities include developing transformation logic, troubleshooting integration issues, validating data quality, supporting deployment activities, and collaborating with technical and functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of integration requirements. Additional ETL and integration-related duties within the scope of the engagement may be assigned as project needs arise.
The contractor will serve as an individual contributor. Work assignments will be managed through the project team's established delivery processes and tracked through tools such as Jira. Deliverables will be reviewed and approved by designated university project and technical leads.
Detailed ETL Scope of Work:
● Review and validate approved integration architecture, source-to-target mappings, transformation logic, and business rules for all assigned integrations.
● Design and develop ETL pipelines supporting batch and real-time integrations between Salesforce, Workday Student, and related systems.
● Develop extraction logic, transformation rules, staging processes, reconciliation logic, and data quality validation routines.
● Support ETL processing for inbound and outbound integrations, including application data, advisor assignments, advising notes, student data synchronization, and real-time integration requirements.
● Coordinate closely with internal ETL developer and Salesforce technical resources regarding mapping validation, deployment sequencing, defect remediation, and testing support.
● Participate in technical work sessions and provide implementation feedback regarding integration feasibility, performance considerations, and data dependencies.
● Support lower-environment configuration validation and production deployment preparation activities.
● Execute ETL testing activities, including validation of transformed data, reconciliation against source systems, and defect resolution support.
● Prepare ETL-related Change Request Documentation (via Jira) and coordinate production migration activities.
● Document ETL processes, transformation rules, dependencies, error handling approaches, and operational support requirements.
● Provide knowledge transfer and transition support to internal university resources.
Required qualifications:
The contractor would support Salesforce-to-Workday Student integrations beginning as early as August 3, 2026. The resource would supplement existing ETL capacity, provide surge support for parallel integration workstreams, and mitigate risk associated with the loss of partial ETL support. The project schedule requires multiple integrations to progress in parallel to meet the January 1, 2027, end-to-end testing target.
Minimum requirements:
● Minimum 5 years of hands-on ETL development experience designing, building, testing, and supporting enterprise data integration solutions in a complex environment
● Demonstrated experience developing and supporting integrations between cloud-based enterprise applications, preferably including Salesforce, Workday, Student Information Systems, or comparable SaaS platforms.
● Proficiency with ETL and data integration technologies, including data mapping, transformation logic, API-based integrations, batch processing, real-time integrations, data quality validation, reconciliation processes, and error handling frameworks.
● Experience supporting full software development lifecycle activities, including requirements analysis, technical design, testing, deployment, production support, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
● Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with functional stakeholders, developers, architects, and project teams in a higher education or similarly complex organizational environment.
Preferred qualifications:
● Experience with Informatica strongly preferred
