Vehicle Safety Test EngineerLocation: Newark, CA (Onsite with nationwide travel)
Pay: $28-$32/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week (OT potential)
Duration: 12+ month contract (extension possible)
Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced
Vehicle Safety Test Engineer to support
vehicle crash testing, safety validation, and test execution. This role is hands-on and dynamic, working with cross-functional teams to ensure vehicles meet
safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and execute vehicle crash and safety tests
- Operate and maintain test equipment and instrumentation
- Support engineers with test preparation, execution, and data collection
- Perform vehicle teardown, rebuilds, and modifications for testing
- Work with high-voltage systems safely and effectively
- Document test results and ensure quality and accuracy of data
- Collaborate with engineering teams to meet project timelines and safety requirements
- Travel to test sites across the U.S. as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in vehicle safety testing and crash testing
- 5+ years of experience working with high-voltage systems
- 5+ years of experience with vehicle teardown and rebuilds
- Apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on technical training
- Strong troubleshooting, mechanical, and technical skills
- Ability to work onsite in Newark, CA (required)

- Primarily onsite with occasional nationwide travel

- Interview process includes two rounds and technical assessment
