Role Summary
Architect I – Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is responsible for designing, implementing, and guiding end‑to‑end AEM solutions using Java, modern DevOps practices, and Git‑based workflows. The role partners with product, design, and operations teams to ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable digital experience platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Design AEM architectures including author, publish, dispatcher, and integrations with surrounding enterprise systems.
Translate business and UX requirements into technical designs, including content models, templates, components, workflows, and permissions.
Lead implementation of AEM solutions using Java, AEM best practices, and reusable component libraries.
Define and enforce branching, code review, and merge strategies using Git (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or SVN‑to‑Git workflows).
Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Adobe Cloud Manager) for build, test, and deployment automation.
Collaborate with front‑end teams to integrate SPA/modern JS frameworks and ensure performant, accessible experiences.
Optimize AEM for performance, security, SEO, caching, and scalability across environments.
Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root‑cause analysis and long‑term fixes.
Create and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and deployment runbooks.
Mentor developers on AEM, Java, Git workflows, and CI/CD practices.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5–8 years of experience in enterprise Java development, with at least 3–5 years on AEM (on‑prem, AMS, or AEM as a Cloud Service).
Strong hands‑on experience with:
AEM Sites (templates, components, dialogs, Sling Models, HTL).
Java, OSGi, Sling, JCR, REST APIs.
Git and branching strategies (GitFlow, trunk‑based, feature branching).
Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines:
Maven/Gradle builds for AEM, automated unit tests and static analysis.
Integration with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or Adobe Cloud Manager.
Solid understanding of secure coding, OWASP principles, and role‑based access in AEM.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and using tools such as Jira/Confluence.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with non‑technical stakeholders.
