Position Overview

We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer for a long-term contract opportunity. This role will support the Office of Early Childhood Education in developing high-impact visual communication materials. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of professional experience and a proven ability to translate complex information into visually engaging designs across both print and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Concept & Design: Develop and produce a wide variety of materials, including flyers, infographics, conference programs, social media graphics, reports, and advertisements.
• Strategic Collaboration: Meet with internal stakeholders to understand project goals, format requirements (print, digital, ePub), and target audiences.
• Project Management: Collaborate on project scheduling to ensure all deliverables meet strict timelines, budget constraints, and the overall agency communications plan.
• Visual Storytelling: Create or source illustrations, photography, and design elements that reflect the desired theme and professional tone of the agency.
• Typography & Layout: Expertly select typefaces, sizes, and styles to optimize readability; manage color palettes and layouts to ensure visual harmony.
• Iterative Review: Produce initial drafts for stakeholder review and execute revisions based on feedback to ensure final products meet all requirements.
• Vendor Liaison: Set technical parameters for print production and work directly with vendors to guarantee high-quality final outputs.
• Branding: Ensure all graphics and layouts are visually appealing and strictly adhere to agency brand guidelines and style sheets.

Required Skills & Experience

• Years of Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a professional graphic design role.
• Software Proficiency: Expert-level skills in the Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Portfolio: A strong professional portfolio demonstrating expertise in print layouts (programs, posters, postcards, reports), logo design, and custom illustrations.
• Production Knowledge: Deep understanding of print production processes and digital publication formats.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with various teams and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Word Design: Experience creating professional print layouts within Microsoft Word to facilitate future editing and updates by the client.
