Tandem Nonstop Administrator (Remote )
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:
- Mandatory skills and experience for Supplier:
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and telephone skills
- Ability to work effectively with remote U.S. and offshore personnel
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Ability to define, implement, and monitor process changes
- Problem-solving approach to resolve problems, improve processes, and increase productivity
- Generation of status reports
- Working with project schedules and timelines
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- will provide the following services (collectively, the "Services") independently and on its own responsibility: Nonstop System Management Services
- Upgrade Nonstop Operating Systems (OS), includes adding SPRS, using DSM/SCM.
- Perform troubleshooting of Safeguard security setting and resolve issues, like incorrect disk file and volume rules.
- Perform cold load of a system from the console, locally or through remote desktop to NS Server.
- Document work performed in Help desk system, and in SharePoint files (like password or SYSNN change.)
- Complete software installations like: Web Viewpoint, Viewpoint, Remote Server Call,
- Safeguard addition of user-ids/groups, or deletion of user-ids/groups.
- Perform OSS software installations like: TMF, SQL/MX, ITP Webserver, JDBC and Tuxedo.
- Resolve telecommunications problems on the Nonstop Systems (FTP, Java, JDBC, Telnet, CLIM settings.)
- Clean up Guardian and OSS files from user-ids and/or groups & delete those user-ids/groups as projects complete.
- Upgraded firmware on CLIMs, including cold loads of CLIMs.
- Fix OSS problems with file and directory security.
- Install and configure a storage CLIM or ip CLIM
- Add or remove storage from a system
- Add or remove processors from a system
- Upgrade and downgrade firmware
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Expertise in Nonstop System Administration - Hardware and Software
- Familiar with Nonstop NextGen, NonStop Blade, and NonStop Integrity Systems.
- Knowledge and experience with vNonStop, and VMware a major plus.
- Knowledge of core NonStop products interacting with, SQL/MX, NSK, OSS and File System
