Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Risk Analyst - Cyber Risk with our client in the financial industry. This is a hybrid 6-month contract to hire role located in Pittsburgh, PA, Birmingham, AL, Dallas, TX, Phoenix, AZ or Strongsville, OH. Role Overview We are seeking a Senior / Lead Cyber Risk Analyst with a strong quantitative background and hands-on experience leveraging cyber risk, security analytics, and data platforms. This role focuses on applying mathematical and statistical techniques to cyber risk quantification, developing analytical models, and deploying both vendor-provided and internally built tools to support enterprise cyber risk and security decision-making.
Key Responsibilities - Apply advanced mathematics, statistics, and quantitative modeling techniques to cyber risk quantification and security analytics
- Analyze large, complex datasets related to cyber threats, vulnerabilities, controls, and loss scenarios
- Develop and maintain quantitative risk models, simulations, scoring methodologies, and analytical frameworks
- Design, build, and automate technical reporting, dashboards, and metrics for cyber risk and security programs
- Deploy, configure, and optimize cyber risk and security analytics tools, including vendor platforms and internally developed solutions
- Integrate data from multiple sources (security tooling, audit data, risk systems, external threat intelligence) into analytical models
- Support IT audit and GRC activities through data-driven control testing, risk assessments, and quantitative analysis
- Partner with cybersecurity, risk, audit, and engineering teams to translate quantitative outputs into actionable technical insights
- Continuously evaluate and enhance analytical methodologies, tooling, and data pipelines
Required Qualifications - Demonstrated expertise in mathematics, statistics, probability, and quantitative analysis
- Strong experience in data analysis, modeling, and technical reporting within a cyber, risk, or security context
- Hands-on experience supporting IT audit, assurance, or control assessment activities
- Solid technical knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, threat landscapes, and control frameworks
- Proven experience with program development, analytics platform implementation, or tool deployment
Tooling & Technical Experience (One or More Required) - Cyber risk quantification and analytics platforms: Safe Security (RiskLens), Balbix, Koverr, X Analytics
- Threat intelligence and cyber risk integration tools: ThreatConnect, Ostrich, Direct Connect
- Data analysis and modeling tools (e.g., SQL-based platforms, analytical engines, reporting tools)
- Experience integrating vendor tools with internally developed models or in-house analytics platforms
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or related quantitative discipline
- Experience working with FAIR or other quantitative cyber risk methodologies
- Exposure to Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) systems and processes
- Experience designing or supporting internally built cyber risk or security analytics tools
- Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISSP, or similar (preferred, not required)
Leveling Guidance - Senior Analyst: 5+ years of experience in quantitative analysis, cyber risk, IT audit, or cybersecurity analytics
- Lead Analyst: 8+ years of experience with ownership of quantitative risk models, analytics platforms, or tool deployments
