Summary

As a Program Manager in 1st Party Operations, you will play a key role in shaping the Compliance QA processes and workflows for the client's products to understand and navigate the first-party certification space. This position will be part of a motivated team that provides coordinated 1st Party Requirements Testing against console and mobile titles across the client.

This person will work with multiple cross functional teams and external vendors to ensure game content is tested against 1st Party Requirements to drive critical compliance project outcomes through aligning expectations and coordinating timelines.

You will help the client's Teams understand how 1st Party requirements apply to them and be responsible for providing clear communication around certification hurdles, including proper coordination of planning, testing, tracking, communication, scoping, and risk management. Organization, multitasking, and focus are required skills for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead critical rituals to review test strategy, results, planning and/or triage sessions with product teams and engineers.
  • Breakdown requirements into digestible information so stakeholders at various levels can understand how platform requirements apply to their titles and tools.
  • Provide actionable insights to Product Teams and expand platform knowledge to drive impactful collaboration with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Build dashboards and reporting mechanisms so stakeholders can understand certification risks early and meet platform standards prior to submission.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation, including detailed walkthroughs, policy breakdowns, requirements documentation, and more for risk reporting to relevant stakeholders.
  • Partner with Submissions Team and Game Team QA Leads to integrate vendor QA processes into the production and release workflows.
  • Proactively evaluate and identify opportunities to improve efficiency in day-to-day workflows and enhance the compliance testing process to ensure it is scalable, reliable, and aligned with evolving requirements.
  • Solve complex problems by evolving and innovating on best practices, introducing new approaches to identify, assess, and mitigate quality risks across the development lifecycle.
  • Formulate productive working relationships with team members, colleagues, and external partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-3+ years of experience as a QA Lead, Senior QA, QA Manager, Project Manager and/or Program Manager in the space of 1P Compliance.
  • Experience leading testing against TRC/XRs on 1st Party development hardware (test kits, dev kits, etc.).
  • Experience designing and executing test plans for both Functional and Compliance QA.
  • Experience tasking remote testers and providing feedback on effectiveness.
  • Experience managing components of a defect database.
  • Experience creating custom reports on test coverage and defect data.
  • Able to operate independently, while also guiding junior QA and external testers in their day to day tasks.
  • Actively communicates a positive, outgoing approach to certification. Capable of dissecting and resolving issues for our customers.
  • Able to maintain composure under tight deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks to drive projects to completion with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey appropriate levels of detail for each target audience.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to increase compliance awareness and predictability.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of the nuances around 1st Party requirements Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Apple, and Google
  • Understanding of game development lifecycle and processes, gaming ecosystems or gaming platforms, technologies, and 1st party processes
  • Previous experience launching products onto console and mobile platforms
  • Experience with 1st party developer portal sites, SDKs and tools
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology and project management software such as JIRA, Notion, Airtable, etc
  • Knowledge of submission process and store portals for one or more partner platforms (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Apple, Google, other Android platforms)
