Summary

Who We Are

Wayfair believes everyone deserves a home they love, and that furnishing your home should be a source of fun, not anxiety. Our Supply Chain and Retail Technology team plays a critical role in making this vision a reality by building technology that ensures our customers receive their orders as promised in the most optimal fashion.

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead the Transport Planning & Routing domain within our Supply Chain and Retail Technology organization. In this high-impact role, you will oversee the reliable, cost-effective movement of goods-from supplier intake to last-mile delivery. You will lead a team building the mission-critical systems that power Wayfair's global logistics ecosystem, offering a unique opportunity to stay hands-on while solving complex, large-scale transport planning and scheduling challenges.

This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in cross-functional environments, can manage complex technical ecosystems, and is passionate about building something foundational and large scale that powers Wayfair supply chain.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and manage a team of 5-9 engineers responsible for building and scaling the platforms that power Supply Chain Systems at Wayfair.
  • Own the technical output of your team across design, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers to define roadmaps, shape requirements, and ensure delivery against a clear mission and KPIs.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching through 1:1s, code reviews, and career development support, fostering a culture of growth, inclusion, and technical excellence.
  • Raise the bar on engineering best practices - driving improvements in reliability, scalability, and velocity.
  • Collaborate across Supply Chain and Retail Technology and broader Wayfair Engineering to establish and leverage common APIs, services, and frameworks.
  • Partner with senior leaders across Engineering, Product, Design, Analytics, and Operations to build solutions that address complex customer and business needs.
  • Engage your team in technical roadmap planning, ensuring long-term sustainability and innovation alongside near-term delivery.
What You'll Need:
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in a technical leadership or people management role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven success leading teams that deliver scalable, distributed systems, services, or integrations in a complex business environment.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to dive deep into architecture and design decisions while enabling your team's autonomy.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to align technical and business perspectives.
  • Experience collaborating with Product, Design, Analytics, and business stakeholders to define and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow engineers at varying levels of experience.
  • A bias toward action, with a passion for iterating quickly, testing, and learning to achieve customer and business outcomes.
