Summary

Job Overview

Our Engineering & Construction (E&C) Business Unit is seeking an experienced Project Management Consultant to support Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from early-stage development through pre-construction. This role will manage multiple projects across the U.S. and Canada, ensuring seamless coordination across cross-functional teams including Development, Engineering, Estimating, Supply Chain, Scheduling, and Construction.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate highly matrixed project teams to ensure resources are aligned with project schedules and milestones
Manage project variables including environmental, regulatory, cultural, land acquisition, and interconnection requirements
Develop and refine technical project scope
Optimize technical and financial feasibility of projects
Support origination and development teams during PPA and GIA negotiations
Coordinate engineering, procurement, and cost estimating activities
Assist in financial model development and actively manage it through executive budget approvals
Leverage market data to maintain strong project financial health
Present project updates, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership
Source, negotiate, and execute commercial contracts (geotechnical, survey, engineering, EPC/PC services)
Ensure smooth transition of projects to Construction Project Managers with executable construction plans
Utilize various project management and reporting tools to track deliverables and KPIs
Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives

Required Qualifications

Bachelor s Degree (Engineering, Construction Management, Finance/Accounting preferred) or equivalent experience
4+ years of project management experience (6 10 years preferred)
Strong experience in engineering and construction project environments
Excellent communication, analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in renewable energy, electricity markets, or battery storage (BESS) projects
PMP Certification
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience supporting PPA and GIA negotiations
