Role Overview

A Program Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering multiple related projects (a program) that align with business goals. The role focuses on strategy, cross-team coordination, risk management, and stakeholder communication, ensuring programs deliver value on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Program Planning & Strategy

·        Define program vision, objectives, scope, and success metrics

·        Align program goals with organizational strategy and customer expectations

·        Create and maintain program roadmaps and dependency plans

Project & Delivery Management

·        Oversee multiple interrelated projects and project managers

·        Track milestones, timelines, budgets, and deliverables

·        Ensure adherence to Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies

Stakeholder Management

·        Act as the primary point of contact for senior leadership, clients, and vendors

·        Present program status to VPs, SVPs, CIOs, and end customers

·        Manage expectations and resolve escalations proactively

Risk, Issue & Change Management

·        Identify program-level risks and dependencies early

·        Drive mitigation plans and corrective actions

·        Manage scope changes and assess business impact

Financial & Resource Management

·        Own program budgets, forecasts, and cost controls

·        Allocate resources across projects effectively

·        Track ROI, benefits realization, and cost optimization

Governance & Reporting

·        Establish program governance frameworks

·        Prepare weekly/monthly executive dashboards and status reports

·        Ensure compliance with organizational standards and policies

Team Leadership & Collaboration

·        Lead cross-functional teams (Engineering, QA, DevOps, Security, Business)

·        Mentor project managers and delivery leads

·        Foster collaboration across global and onsite/offshore teams

Qualifications

·        SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) or SAFe Agilist

·        Scrum Master / PMI-ACP

·        ITIL (optional)
