Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Senior DevOps Engineer / with strong experience managing complex on-premises and cloud-based production environments. This role requires deep technical expertise across databases, middleware, container platforms, operating systems, automation, monitoring, and production support.
The ideal candidate will be capable of independently installing, configuring, upgrading, securing, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the complete platform stack, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, Apache Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux/Unix environments.
This is not solely a CI/CD or DevOps pipeline role. The successful candidate will have strong platform engineering and systems administration capabilities and will be comfortable supporting highly available, business-critical production applications.
Experience within telecommunications, OSS platforms, network elements, and Telecom System Performance environments
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, secure, monitor, and maintain enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Take hands-on ownership of the complete application platform and supporting infrastructure.
- Perform platform troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, performance optimization, and production issue resolution.
- Support platform upgrades, migrations, patching, configuration changes, and environment maintenance.
- Build and maintain highly available, scalable, resilient, and secure production environments.
- Install, configure, manage, upgrade, monitor, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters.
- Manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Troubleshoot application, container, networking, storage, resource, and cluster-level issues.
- Support Kubernetes platform availability, security, scalability, and performance.
- Install, configure, upgrade, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Apache Kafka environments.
- Support Kafka availability, reliability, performance, and operational health.
- Diagnose platform and application integration issues involving Kafka.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting application deployment and infrastructure operations.
- Use Git for source control and configuration management workflows.
- Automate repetitive infrastructure, deployment, configuration, monitoring, and operational activities.
- Develop automation and operational scripts using Shell and Python.
- Promote repeatable and automated deployment and platform-management practices.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability capabilities.
- Proactively identify system health, capacity, availability, and performance issues.
- Participate in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of critical production incidents.
- Support highly available, production-grade systems with a strong focus on reliability and uptime.
- Improve operational processes through automation and preventive monitoring.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Production Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, upgrading, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise platforms.
- Strong experience supporting both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based development/deployment workflows.
- Strong scripting and automation capabilities using Shell and/or Python.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, security, storage, system performance, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions.
- Strong understanding of backup/recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and production resiliency.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across application and infrastructure layers.
- Strong experience supporting business-critical, highly available production systems.
- Ability to work independently and take technical ownership of platforms from installation through ongoing production support.
