Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP Basis Consultant with 15+ years of experience and strong hands-on expertise in SAP Batch Job Testing to support the technical validation of migrated ECC background/batch jobs in an SAP S/4HANA environment.

The consultant will be responsible for test preparation, job execution, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance analysis, reporting, and coordination with functional and technical teams to ensure critical batch workloads execute successfully and meet defined operational and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize and validate approximately 45 in-scope ECC batch jobs being migrated to SAP S/4HANA.
• Review batch job definitions, schedules, dependencies, variants, users, programs, and predecessor/successor relationships.
• Prepare the S/4HANA environment and coordinate required test data and prerequisites.
• Execute and/or coordinate batch jobs during controlled testing cycles.
• Monitor job execution, runtime, failures, cancellations, work processes, and overall system/database utilization.
• Compare ECC baseline performance with corresponding S/4HANA job execution where applicable.
• Troubleshoot failed, delayed, cancelled, or performance-degraded batch jobs.
• Perform root-cause analysis and coordinate resolution with appropriate technical and application teams.
• Conduct retesting following configuration, code, or data corrections.
• Prepare test results, performance reports, issue documentation, and recommendations.
• Coordinate closely with Functional, ABAP, Infrastructure, Database, Interface, Testing, and Business teams.
• Support batch-job readiness assessment and sign-off activities prior to production cutover.
• Ensure batch workloads meet agreed operational, technical, and performance expectations.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of overall SAP Basis experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration and support.
• Extensive experience with SAP background/batch job management and testing.
• Experience supporting SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration or transformation projects.
• Strong knowledge of SAP job scheduling, monitoring, dependencies, variants, and job troubleshooting.
• Experience analyzing job runtimes, failures, work processes, and system/database performance.
• Ability to perform technical root-cause analysis and coordinate issue resolution.
• Experience working with cross-functional SAP and technical teams.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience validating migrated ECC batch jobs in SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience with batch-job performance comparison between ECC and S/4HANA.
• Familiarity with SAP cutover, testing, readiness, and sign-off activities.
• Experience working in large-scale SAP migration programs.
