Summary
Overview
We are seeking a Data Strategy Consultant to assess, optimize, and establish governance over a complex third-party data ecosystem. This role will focus on improving visibility, reducing costs, and enabling strategic use of third-party data across the organization, while laying the foundation for future Customer 360 initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Assess the current third-party data landscape, including:
- Data sourcing and vendors
- Usage and business value
- Redundancies and overlaps
- Governance practices
Identify and quantify:
- Cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities
- Operational optimization opportunities related to third-party data
Develop a practical roadmap for third-party data optimization, including:
- Governance framework and controls
- Definition and implementation approach for a future “golden source”
Establish centralized visibility into:
- Third-party data contracts and purchases
- Data usage and ownership across the enterprise
Analyze third-party data spend to identify:
- Duplicate or redundant data sources
- Underutilized or non-strategic investments
- Opportunities for consolidation and savings
Define and implement governance standards to support a single source of truth for third-party data assets
Partner cross-functionally with Business Units, Sourcing, Engineering, and Corporate Strategy teams to align on data strategy and execution
Support long-term Customer 360 initiatives by improving transparency into:
- Where third-party data resides
- How it is used
- How it is governed
Core Responsibilities
- Third-party data contract visibility and management
- Data sourcing coordination and vendor alignment
- Stakeholder engagement across business and technical teams
- Data usage analysis and reporting
- Identification of optimization opportunities
- Governance design and implementation
- Strategic roadmap development
Required Qualifications
- Experience with third-party data sourcing, procurement, and optimization
- Strong program management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Background in contract analysis and data governance frameworks
Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving:
- Business Units
- Sourcing/Procurement
- Engineering/Data teams
- Corporate Strategy
Expertise in:
- Data strategy development
- Operating model design
- Governance frameworks and controls
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in large enterprise environments (telecom experience a plus)
- Familiarity with Customer 360 or enterprise data unification initiatives
- Strong analytical and financial acumen related to data spend
