Shift: 1st Shift (Start between 6:00 AM - 8:00 AM)
Required Qualifications - Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil/structural engineering within facilities, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
- Working knowledge of construction principles, building codes, materials, and engineering methodologies.
- Experience reviewing and approving design documents and construction packages.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with diverse technical teams.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
About the Role The Facilities Plant Engineer III provides multi-discipline engineering support for manufacturing operations, with a primary emphasis on
civil and structural engineering. This role supports new construction projects, building modifications, equipment installations, and long-term infrastructure planning. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, external consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies to deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality facility solutions.
Key Responsibilities Civil/Structural Engineering - Provide engineering support for new construction, existing building modifications, site infrastructure, utility systems, and equipment foundations.
- Develop conceptual and final designs, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for civil/structural project phases.
- Review civil/structural design packages to ensure compliance with:
- Customer requirements
- Building codes
- Safety regulations
- Industry standards
- Perform maintenance support activities related to building structures, site utilities, hardscape, and grounds.
Project Engineering & Management - Lead or support construction projects, including contractor proposal reviews, vendor selection input, and work progress monitoring.
- Interface with external agencies and regulatory authorities as needed.
- Ensure supplier/contractor compliance with all contractual and safety requirements.
- Manage project budgets and maintain project documentation, schedules, reports, and communication.
Cross-Functional Engineering Integration - Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, architectural, and reliability engineering teams.
- Ensure design coordination between disciplines during planning, development, and execution phases.
- Produce or manage the creation of detailed design documents and permit application packages.
Reliability & Asset Management - Conduct failure analysis and root-cause investigations using tools such as:
- Life-cycle analysis
- Condition-based maintenance
- Reliability modeling (MTBF, FTA, RCFA, etc.)
- Support improvements in asset reliability, maintainability, and availability.
- Recommend and specify configurations for new facility assets.
Compliance & Documentation - Interpret and apply applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
- Review contractor redlines and ensure accuracy of engineering drawing archives.
- Develop or update engineering standards and site-specific procedures.
Planning & Customer Engagement - Translate customer requirements into conceptual design options, including:
- Code research
- Preliminary layouts
- Cost/schedule estimates
- Identification of required materials, services, and engineering support
- Support long-term infrastructure planning studies and capital improvement recommendations.
