Hexcel is currently seeking an Engineering Manager for our Kent, WA, USA location.

The position will be responsible for Management of the Manufacturing and Design engineering groups to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. This position will also be responsible for championing technology throughout the Kent facility.

Summary pay range: $118,320 - $202,830 annual salary.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering organization, including design, tooling, stress analysis, MRB, and manufacturing engineering, through coaching, training, performance management, and technical leadership, including customer and sales support presentations.
  • Lead engineering capital appropriations supporting Technology Development, New Product Introduction (NPI), and capital replacement initiatives, ensuring alignment with business and operational priorities.
  • Own the plant cost-estimating process, including labor and non-recurring costs, delivering timely and accurate estimates and proposals to Pricing and Customer Service teams.
  • Support successful launch of new parts and programs by providing tooling, manufacturing documentation, and direct customer technical interface while ensuring schedule, cost, and budget adherence.
  • Maintain and govern engineering standards, bills of material, routings, and configuration management systems to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with current practices.
  • Provide responsive engineering support to production operations and customers, building strong customer relationships and supporting marketing and sales technical efforts.
  • Plan, balance, and allocate engineering resources and budgets to match workload demands, ensuring teams are appropriately staffed to execute priorities and meet commitments.
  • Champion operational, process, and technological improvements, while developing strategic partnerships with external suppliers and agencies to advance plant capabilities.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive engineering experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred, with working knowledge of AS9100 and Nadcap requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including statistics and data-driven decision making (Lean / Six Sigma experience preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical information and effectively present to internal and external stakeholders.
