About the role:

As a Director - AI Delivery, you will provide strategic and operational leadership. This leadership will be to diverse teams responsible for designing, building, and running AI-driven applications. These applications include autonomous AI agents, enterprise-scale AI solutions, and human-centered user interfaces. You will also oversee the Dynamic Simulation Lab, ensuring experimentation, model-in-the-loop testing, and system-level validation. As the owner of the product lifecycle, the Director sets direction from concept through deployment. You will ensure that all solutions meet the highest standards of reliability, safety, security, and compliance while delivering measurable growth through optimization.

You will report to the Chief Technology Officer and work a hybrid schedule based in Cranberry, PA, or Madrid, Spain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the multi-year roadmap for AI agents, applications, UI/UX, testing and optimization, and the Dynamic Simulation Lab.
  • Build, coach, and retain teams; establish clear goals, operating mechanisms, and growth plans.
  • Prioritize programs with product, engineering, operations, security, and compliance leaders to maximize return on investment and risk reduction.

AI Agents & Applications
  • Oversee architecture and development of autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents (e.g., workflow orchestration, decision support, monitoring).
  • Lead delivery of AI applications (internal tools and customer-facing products) with scalable back-end services and APIs.
  • Implement guardrails for agent behavior (policy constraints, safety checks, escalation paths, human-in-the-loop).

User Interfaces & Experience
  • Direct UI/UX strategy for intuitive, accessible, and compliant interfaces across web, desktop, and operator consoles.
  • Champion user research and usability testing to improve task success rates, reduce cognitive load, and increase adoption.

Testing, Validation & Optimization
  • Establish rigorous test plans: functional, performance, reliability, adversarial/abuse, explainability, and bias audits.
  • Stand up CI/CD for AI systems (datasets, prompts, models, agents, app code) and telemetry-driven optimization loops.
  • Set and enforce quality gates for release, rollback procedures, and incident response strategies.

Dynamic Simulation Lab (DSL)
  • Operate a controlled environment for high-fidelity simulation, digital twins, and scenario stress-testing (including model-in-the-loop and agent-in-the-loop evaluations).
  • Integrate simulation results into risk assessments, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement of agents and applications.
  • Govern lab data, scenarios, and benchmarking to ensure reproducibility and regulatory agreement.

Security, Safety & Compliance
  • Partner with cybersecurity, data privacy, and risk teams to enforce secure-by-design principles, least-privilege access, and monitoring.
  • Ensure agreement on applicable regulations and internal standards (e.g., data governance, model documentation, audit trails, change control).
  • Promote secure deployment patterns, secrets management, and runtime protections for agents and applications.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Translate complex technical topics into clear narratives for executives, operators, and regulators.
  • Publish dashboards and quarterly reports on performance, risk posture, and growth.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Electrical/Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years in software/AI product development, with 5+ years leading teams (AI/ML, software, UX, and QA).
  • Hands-on familiarity with:
    • AI agents/orchestration frameworks, LLMs, traditional ML, reinforcement learning.
    • Modern application stacks (microservices, REST/GraphQL), and front-end frameworks (React/Angular/Vue).
    • CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability/telemetry (logs, metrics, traces).
  • Experience running simulation or test labs, or large-scale staging environments.
  • Demonstrated track record in security-conscious environments (policy, identity and access, data protection).

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $162,000 to $202,500 per year.
