Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Wintel Systems Engineer with strong expertise in Windows enterprise environments, storage management, clustering, diagnostics, and virtualization. The ideal candidate will ensure stability, performance, and scalability of mission-critical systems while leveraging automation and scripting.

Key Responsibilities

Storage Management

Administer enterprise storage solutions (EMC Symmetrix, Unity, PowerFlex)
Configure and manage network file shares
Ensure high availability and performance of storage systems

Clustering & High Availability

Configure and support Windows Clustering
Implement and maintain DFS Clustering
Troubleshoot cluster performance and failover issues

Web & Application Services

Manage and maintain IIS web servers
Perform app pool restarts and monitor application health
Collaborate with application teams for smooth service delivery

Operating System Diagnostics

Monitor system health using Event Viewer & Performance Monitor
Troubleshoot OS-level issues proactively
Document and escalate critical issues

Automation & Scripting

Develop scripts using PowerShell, Batch, and Python
Automate routine administrative tasks

Virtualization

Manage environments in VMware vSphere
Troubleshoot VM issues across Layer 2/Layer 3
Work with infrastructure teams to optimize performance

Required Qualifications

Strong experience in Windows system administration
Hands-on experience with enterprise storage solutions
Expertise in Windows clustering & DFS
Experience with diagnostic tools (Event Viewer, Performance Monitor)
Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Batch, Python)
Experience with VMware vSphere
Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Skills

Experience in enterprise-scale Wintel environments
Exposure to hybrid infrastructure (on-prem + virtualized)
Basic networking knowledge (Layer 2 / Layer 3 troubleshooting)
