WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING FOR?

UX Engineers design, code, and lead the front-end development of web applications. UX Engineers bridge the gap between experience design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides to define how users interact with the application. The UX Engineer often plays the role of front-end tech lead, deciding technical architecture, directing UX Developers to implement the UI, estimating work efforts, setting coding standards and practices for a project, and ensuring code quality. This role may require periodic, short-term travel to conferences, seminars, and client sites up to 25% of the time.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

 ● Experience with Educational Technology (LMS, CMS, assessment, courseware, analytics,  etc.)

 ● Ability to build web applications in Javascript, HTML, and CSS.

● Ability to provide technical leadership to a team of UX Developers.

● Ability to solve complex problems with technical solutions.

● Ability to break down features into tasks and estimate implementation effort.

● Ability to work closely with, and incorporate feedback from clients, designers and other engineers.

● Ability to provide consulting for clients regarding technology and user experience.

● Ability to design and implement responsive design and support a wide range of devices.

● Ability to address questions and influence decisions on technical and experience topics in verbal and written communication.

● Experience providing technical leadership to a development team.

● Experience with Javascript frameworks like React, Angular,Vue, Lit Element, etc.

● Experience with Javascript build tools like Vite, Angular CLI, Webpack, etc.

● Experience with CSS frameworks like Sass, Tailwind, and CSS Modules.

● Experience consuming APIs from a back end via REST or GraphQL.

● Experience with version control systems like Git.

● Experience with testing frameworks (unit testing and e2e).

● Experience with user experience design and usability.

● Experience with responsive design.

● Experience with accessibility.

Education and Work Experience:

● Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.

● 5+ years of experience developing modern web applications.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

● Experience with CSS in JS like Styled Components and Emotion.

● Experience with Web Components, and knowledgeable about their usage.

● Experience with the agile methodology and associated ceremonies (epics and stories, scrum, sprint demo, retrospective, etc.).

● Experience with Learning Experience Design.
