Overview

We are seeking a highly technical Systems Engineer to architect, design, develop, integrate, and launch next-generation vehicle features focused on Vehicle Access, Infotainment, Connected Services, and Embedded Software Systems.

This role requires a strong blend of systems engineering, software development, electrical architecture knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver complex customer-facing features from concept through production. The successful candidate will work across software, hardware, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and vehicle electrical systems to create scalable, secure, and innovative vehicle experiences.


Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and develop electrical and software systems for vehicle access, infotainment, and connected vehicle domains.
  • Lead feature development from concept through production launch, including feature upgrades, migrations, and continuous improvements.
  • Develop network architectures, wiring diagrams, electrical architectures, power distribution topologies, schematics, and system block diagrams.
  • Allocate features and functions across hardware, software, cloud services, and vehicle subsystems.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, hardware designers, cybersecurity specialists, cloud architects, suppliers, and program teams to define system requirements and implementation strategies.
  • Develop feature specifications, functional specifications, implementation requirements, and supporting documentation.
  • Create and maintain Feature Failure Mode Avoidance documentation, feature verification plans, cybersecurity assessments, and functional safety assessments.
  • Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and software development tools including Python, C++, and requirements management tools such as Gherkin.
  • Integrate embedded vehicle systems with cloud-based services while ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable solutions.
  • Develop, test, validate, and deploy technical solutions for endpoint hardware and software.
  • Review existing system designs to identify opportunities for quality improvements, cost reductions, and enhanced customer experiences.
  • Analyze complex systems and develop solutions to technical challenges.
  • Support products by investigating quality concerns, field issues, and root cause analysis.
  • Lead technical trade-off discussions across cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure compliance with performance, safety, cybersecurity, and quality standards.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends related to vehicle access, infotainment, and connected vehicle experiences.
  • Utilize connected vehicle data and analytics to understand customer usage and system performance.
  • Communicate technical concepts, risks, and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and industry partners to evaluate emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to the development of next-generation vehicle platforms by bridging systems engineering and software engineering disciplines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of Systems Engineering experience, preferably in automotive, embedded systems, or related industries.
  • Minimum 3 years of Software Engineering experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with complex electrical and software systems.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience designing infotainment, embedded systems, or connected vehicle technologies.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with cloud systems architecture, services, or integration patterns.
  • Experience designing customer-facing vehicle features using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience developing system architectures, interface definitions, functional decompositions, and system requirements.
  • Experience developing feature specifications, implementation requirements, verification plans, Failure Mode Avoidance documentation, functional safety assessments, and cybersecurity assessments.
  • Experience leading software-enabled feature development throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with embedded software systems, infotainment systems, vehicle access technologies, or connected vehicle features.
  • Experience integrating embedded systems with cloud-based architectures, services, APIs, and data platforms.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and feature development.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve software, hardware integration, and communication issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of automotive systems engineering or software-intensive product development experience.
  • Proficiency with Python, C++, GitHub, JSON, and XML.
  • Experience with automotive communication protocols including CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet.
  • Knowledge of vehicle access, privacy, consent management, authentication, or authorization systems.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices for connected vehicle systems.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering V-Model development processes.
  • Experience with DFMEA, Boundary Diagrams, and Special Characteristics Communication and Agreement Forms.
  • Experience supporting customer use cases through architecture, development, testing, validation, and integration.
  • Experience with electrical Design & Release activities and vehicle electrical testing.
  • Strong analytical, systems-thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional team
