Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring MTS Software Development Eng. to Design, build, and maintain efficient and reliable data pipelines and software systems to move and transform data (both large and small amounts) within our Azure ecosystem. Develop and maintain scalable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes. Develop software solutions and optimize data flow and collection for cross-functional teams. Drive impactful solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Design and optimize cutting-edge data solutions to power one of the world's leading tech companies. Ensure the seamless integration and compatibility of data solutions with Databricks Unity Catalog Data Warehouse and adhere to general data warehousing principles. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to support data-centric needs. Implement data governance and quality processes, ensuring data integrity and compliance. Optimize data flow and collection for cross-functional teams. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including computer hardware and software, applications, and programming, as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD systems and products.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Three years of experience as a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, Database Developer, or related role.

Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field and five (5) years of progressive post baccalaureate experience as a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, Database Developer, or related role.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

Position requires three (3) years of experience in the following:
  • Performing software verification;
  • Azure data ecosystem, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Explorer;
  • Databricks Data Warehouse and data warehousing principles;
  • ETL and Data Pipeline Development;
  • Programming in languages such as Python, SQL, Scala, or Java; and
  • Data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques.
