Requirements Overview In this role, you'll work with a team of engineers designing and documenting mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-unit residential facilities. You'll contribute across the project lifecycle-from existing-conditions documentation through design coordination and field verification.
What You'll Do - Document existing mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection) through as-built/field investigations.
- Develop and update design drawings using AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit.
- Lead mechanical design/layout tasks for commercial and residential projects.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders to integrate designs.
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations.
- Size and select mechanical equipment.
- Conduct final inspections to verify installations align with design intent.
What You'll Bring - 6-8 years of experience in mechanical systems design and/or installation.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience with mechanical and plumbing design; fire suppression systems; fuel distribution; residential and commercial HVAC principles; energy code compliance; and building controls systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret 3D building systems and translate them into clear 2D construction documents.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications - E.I.T. or P.E. preferred.

The Salary Range for this position is $83,000.00 - $124,000.00 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure. PHYSICAL DEMANDS, OVERTIME, AND TRAVEL Physical Demands - Work will be performed both in an office setting and at outside locations (i.e., Client's office, industrial, construction, and/or residential sites). Employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb ladders, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and drive a motor vehicle to job sites. Employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employee must be attentive, focused, and alert when conducting site inspections, speaking, and interacting with clients, preparing drawings and written reports. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary.
Overtime - This position is classified as salaried with an exempt FLSA status. Regular working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with one hour for lunch. There will be periods where overtime will be required, which the employee will need to comply with in order to meet the demands of the position.
