SUMMARYThe Test Engineer I supports manufacturing test operations within assigned workcells by executing and sustaining electrical and functional test processes for large-form assemblies (LFA) and system-level products. This entry-level engineering role performs hands-on test engineering activities involving high-voltage electrical systems (480VAC / 120VAC), low-voltage controls (24VDC), Hipot testing, pressure and leak testing, and basic automation support under guidance from senior Test Engineers. The Test Engineer I ensures test execution meets Jabil quality, safety, and customer requirements while building foundational test engineering skills.
LEADERSHIP AND COLLABORATION RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Support & Development: Support Test Engineer II/III and Test Leads in executing assigned test engineering tasks
Assist in training Manufacturing Test Operators (L1-L3) on basic test procedures and safe equipment use.
Support development and maintenance of test documentation, work instructions, and standard work.
Participate in training and skill development activities to build test engineering competency.
Performance & Communication: Support achievement of test-related KPIs such as safety, FPY, yield, and test uptime.
Communicate test issues, risks, and status to senior Test Engineers.
Participate in cross-functional meetings related to test readiness and production support.
Document test results, issues, and changes accurately.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES Support execution and sustainment of test processes including:
- 480VAC and 120VAC electrical power and functional testing
- 24VDC control systems and interlock validation
- Hipot / dielectric withstand testing
- Pressure testing, leak detection, pre-air, and vacuum testing
- Safety interlocks, emergency stop validation, and compliance checks
Assist with troubleshooting basic test failures and isolating issues related to product or setup.
Support test station setup, verification, and release for production.
Assist with basic test script updates or automation support under guidance.
Verify test equipment calibration status and escalate concerns.
Support NPI activities including test dry runs and early builds.
Support test station setup, verification, and release for production.
Create, update, and maintain test-related work instructions under guidance from Test Engineer II/III.
Modify existing work instructions to reflect approved test changes, equipment updates, or process improvements.
Ensure work instructions accurately reflect test setup, safety requirements, and execution steps.
Support validation of work instructions through dry runs and production feedback.
Ensure released work instructions comply with Jabil documentation control and change management requirements.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety, pressure safety, EHS, and Jabil standards.
Follow standard work and safety procedures during all test activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline required. Zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in manufacturing, test, or engineering roles. Basic understanding of electrical systems and manufacturing processes. Must be able to obtain and maintain all required job-related certifications.
