Pay Range: $50 - $53/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform linguistic analyses on large datasets.
- Conduct linguistic error analysis of AI model outputs, identifying frequent and severe error categories.
- Write and revise guidelines for human annotation and AI projects, including translation tasks.
- Conduct typological and sociolinguistic research on various languages, highlighting their similarities and differences.
- Analyze linguistic aspects for Responsible AI, addressing issues like toxic language and cultural biases.
- Collaborate with native speakers and communicate findings to engineers and research scientists.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- 0-3 years of experience in linguistics or a related field.
- A PhD in Linguistics is required.
- Native/Near-native proficiency in target language (Tagalog / Filipino / Cebuano, Thai / Lao, Swahili, Hebrew / Amharic / Tigrinya) and English.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Strong knowledge in NLP / Computational Language Analysis.
- Expertise in Syntax, Morphology, Sociolinguistics, Typology & Corpus Linguistics.
- Experience with fieldwork in linguistics.
- Background in corpus linguistics.
- Familiarity with international language-classification standards.
- Working knowledge of additional languages
