Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Mechanisms) to support the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced mechanical systems for aerospace and defense applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in mechanical design, CAD modeling, hardware development, and product lifecycle support. This role requires a hands-on engineer who enjoys working in a laboratory environment and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and mechanisms.
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models and engineering drawings.
  • Support the complete product development lifecycle, from concept through testing and production.
  • Perform design analysis, trade studies, material selection, and optimization activities.
  • Develop technical documentation, including part and assembly drawings.
  • Prototype, assemble, integrate, and test mechanical systems and components.
  • Develop and execute mechanical test plans and validation procedures.
  • Analyze test results and recommend design improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Present technical updates and project status to internal teams and customer representatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years of mechanical engineering experience.
  • Strong experience with mechanical system design and product development.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, NX, or similar).
  • Experience creating engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware integration, assembly, and testing.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Security Clearance

  • Active Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI Clearance is required.
  • Candidates with an active clearance within the last two years will also be considered.
  • Favorable Polygraph is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting aerospace or defense programs.
  • Knowledge of mechanical testing, validation, and environmental qualification.
  • Experience working in laboratory and prototype development environments.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards and manufacturing processes.
