Title : Senior SAS Mainframe Developer

Proven experience as a SAS Developer or Business Analyst with a strong focus on SAS programming in Mainframe environments · Hands-on experience with Mainframe platforms including TSO, JCL, VSAM, and DB2 · Minimum 5 years of experience developing and supporting SAS applications on a Mainframe environment · Experience writing, debugging, and optimizing SAS programs, macros, and batch jobs running in production Mainframe settings · Some programming skills in SQL or Python to complement SAS-based data workflows · Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings and code behavior to non-technical stakeholders · Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret large datasets using SAS procedures and reporting tools · Familiarity with SDLC methodologies including Agile/Scrum for design, development, and testing of SAS modules · Experience with data extraction, transformation, merging files, and generating ad-hoc and scheduled reports using SAS · Understanding of data management concepts, data quality, and data governance within enterprise environments · Experience working across multiple database environments (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle) with SAS/ACCESS connectivity
Develop, maintain, and support SAS programs and macros running in a Mainframe batch environment · Analyze existing SAS Mainframe code and build the business requirements to migrate the code to new cloud technologies · Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into SAS-based analytical and reporting solutions · Analyze and troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and document findings clearly for both technical and business audiences · Write clean, well-documented SAS code and rewrite legacy programs or macros to implement improved technical approaches
· Participate actively as a thought partner in defining and estimating technical solutions, including identifying alternatives and trade-offs · Generate, validate, and distribute regular and ad-hoc reports in formats such as Excel, PDF, or web-based outputs using SAS ODS · Work across cross-functional teams to support data migration, system conversion, and Mainframe-to-cloud modernization efforts · Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and quality across all SAS-processed datasets and reporting outputs · Communicate insights and analytical results clearly and concisely to varied audiences including technical teams and business leadership · Provide off-hours or on-call production support for critical Mainframe batch jobs as required.
