The HRIS Core HR Manager partners closely with P&C leaders, Payroll, Reporting & Integrations, Enterprise Technology, and external vendors to ensure Core HR solutions enable scalable, compliant, and user-friendly HR processes.

Key Responsibilities

Core HR Module Ownership & Governance
  • Act as the functional owner of Oracle Core HR, accountable for how the module operates in production and evolves over time
  • Define and maintain global Core HR standards, configuration principles, and business rules
  • Review, approve, and prioritize Core HR changes, enhancements, and defect resolutions
  • Ensure Core HR design aligns with upstream and downstream impacts (Payroll, Reporting, Security, Integrations)

Configuration, Operations & Data Integrity
  • Oversee Core HR configuration including legal entities, business units, jobs, grades, positions, work structures, assignments, and employment data
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of employee and contingent worker data
  • Partner with Security and Compliance teams to ensure appropriate access controls and data privacy standards
  • Lead recurring audits and validations related to Core HR data and processes

People Leadership & Team Enablement
  • Manage and mentor HRIS functional resources supporting Core HR (employees and/or contractors)
  • Set priorities, assign work, and ensure timely delivery of BAU support and project activities
  • Develop team capability through documentation, knowledge sharing, and cross-training
  • Foster strong operational discipline, clear ownership, and continuous improvement

Stakeholder Partnership & Service Delivery
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to P&C stakeholders on Core HR capabilities, limitations, and best practices
  • Translate business requirements into scalable Core HR solutions
  • Partner with Payroll, Talent, Performance, Compensation, and other P&C teams to support end-to-end HR processes
  • Support HR Helpdesk escalation paths for Core HR-related inquiries and issues

Projects, Integrations & Global Expansion
  • Lead Core HR workstreams for implementations, acquisitions, and country expansions
  • Partner with HRIS Technical/Reporting teams on integrations, data feeds, and downstream impacts
  • Support testing cycles including CRP, SIT, UAT, and regression testing for Core HR changes
  • Ensure documentation, job aids, and operational readiness for go-live transitions

Continuous Improvement & Optimization
  • Identify opportunities to simplify Core HR processes, improve data quality, and enhance user experience
  • Stay current on Oracle quarterly releases and assess impacts to Core HR
  • Recommend and implement system and process improvements aligned to HR and business strategy

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in HR, Information Systems, Business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of HRIS experience, with deep functional expertise in Oracle HCM Core HR
  • Prior experience managing or leading HRIS resources (directly or matrixed)
  • Strong understanding of HR data structures, employment lifecycle processes, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with acquisitions, global rollouts, or country-specific HR requirements
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into system solutions
  • A go-getter attitude with the ability to balance multiple priorities through strong project management
  • A reputation for discretion, integrity, judgment, responsiveness, and strong attention to detail
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Payroll, Reporting, or downstream integrations tied to Core HR
  • Experience working in a professional services or matrixed organization

The base salary range for this position in the firm's Chicago, IL, Downers Grove, IL, Denver, CO and Baltimore, MD offices only is between $120,000 and $180,000 per year.
