Position: System Engineer

Location: Hamden, CT (Hybrid)

Contract: 12+ Months and Extendable  

Client: The Greater New Haven Transit District

Description:
The Systems Engineer shall be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, troubleshooting, and administering GNHTD''''s enterprise IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include managing servers, virtualization platforms, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, network infrastructure, firewalls, wireless networks, backup systems, storage devices, cybersecurity, and disaster recovery systems. The Systems Engineer will ensure the reliability, availability, security, and performance of all infrastructure components while supporting technology upgrades and resolving complex technical issues.

Mandatory
Minimum 5 years of experience installing and configuring LAN/WAN equipment. Windows Server administration. Active Directory. DNS. DHCP. VMware. Microsoft Hyper-V. Microsoft Exchange / Microsoft 365.
SQL Server. Cisco networking. Client networking equipment. SonicWall firewall administration. Backup and recovery systems. Network troubleshooting. Infrastructure monitoring.
Preferred
Experience supporting: Barracuda Web Filter, VEEAM, Symantec System Recovery, iBackup, 3CX Phone System, NAS Storage, UPS monitoring, Wireless infrastructure,
Desirable
Public sector IT support.
Transit technology infrastructure.
Cloud administration.
Cybersecurity operations.

Highly Recommended:
CCNA or CCNP
VMware VCP-DCV
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
