Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master to support Agile delivery teams within a healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience leading Scrum teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies, removing impediments, and driving continuous improvement.

Candidates must have a strong background as a Scrum Master, along with significant experience working within the healthcare industry, particularly across areas such as Claims, Members, Providers, Clinical, or Care Management.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Scrum Master for one or more Agile development teams.
• Facilitate core Scrum ceremonies, including:
• Sprint Planning
• Daily Stand-ups
• Sprint Reviews/Demos
• Sprint Retrospectives
• Backlog Refinement
• Coach teams on Scrum principles, Agile practices, and continuous improvement.
• Identify and remove team impediments and blockers.
• Partner closely with Product Owners, stakeholders, developers, QA teams, and other Agile teams.
• Monitor sprint progress, team capacity, velocity, and delivery commitments.
• Promote transparency and effective communication across teams and stakeholders.
• Apply Agile and Kanban methodologies based on team and organizational needs.
• Support teams operating within scaled Agile environments and demonstrate an understanding of SAFe / Scaled Agile concepts.
• Use Jira extensively for sprint planning, backlog management, issue tracking, reporting, and Agile metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives, metrics, and team coaching.
• Help teams identify dependencies, risks, and delivery challenges.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing Agile team environment.

Required Qualifications

• 7–8+ years of hands-on experience as a Scrum Master.
• Strong and recent Scrum Master experience is mandatory.
• 4+ years of healthcare industry experience is required.
• Healthcare experience should include one or more of the following:
• Healthcare Claims
• Member Services
• Provider Operations
• Clinical
• Care Management
• Strong hands-on experience with Jira is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience working with Kanban methodologies.
• Understanding of SAFe / Scaled Agile concepts.
• Strong facilitation, communication, stakeholder management, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Demonstrated experience coaching Agile teams and improving team effectiveness.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Jira Align is a plus but not mandatory.
• Experience working in large-scale or enterprise Agile environments.
• Scrum Master or Agile-related certifications such as CSM, PSM, SAFe Scrum Master, or similar are preferred but not required.
• Experience working with multiple Agile teams or within Agile Release Trains is a plus.
