Cyber Security Engineer

Description

We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to support enterprise security initiatives for a construction organization based in Appleton, Wisconsin. This Long-term Contract position will focus on strengthening security processes, advising business and project teams on secure implementation practices, and helping deploy tools that improve the overall security posture. The ideal candidate brings hands-on engineering experience along with the ability to guide stakeholders through security requirements in a practical, project-driven environment.

Responsibilities:
Design and refine cybersecurity processes that support consistent execution across enterprise projects and operational activities.
Partner with business teams and project stakeholders to provide security guidance and ensure initiatives align with organizational risk expectations.
Implement and maintain security technologies, including firewall and endpoint protection solutions, to improve defense capabilities across the environment.
Oversee security involvement in project delivery by evaluating requirements, identifying risks, and recommending effective safeguards.
Configure and support enterprise firewall platforms such as Check Point and Cisco ASA to maintain secure network boundaries.
Contribute to cybersecurity standards, policies, and compliance practices by aligning engineering activities with established control requirements.
Perform security engineering tasks related to configuration management, tool optimization, and ongoing protection improvements.
Collaborate with IT and security teams to strengthen enterprise security architecture and support long-range cybersecurity strategy.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, enterprise security, or a closely related IT security role.
Demonstrated expertise with cybersecurity technologies, including firewall platforms such as Check Point and Cisco ASA.
Experience implementing and supporting security tools within enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity compliance, standards, policies, and security governance practices.
Background in configuration management and securing infrastructure through controlled engineering processes.
Ability to consult with business stakeholders and translate project needs into practical security solutions.
Knowledge of endpoint security concepts and broader IT security frameworks within complex organizations.
