StaffRight Associates is seeking a high-caliber Assistant Corporate Controller to serve as a technical linchpin for a premier organization operating at the intersection of Real Estate and Construction. This is a high-visibility, direct-hire leadership support role designed for a financial expert who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
You will act as a strategic partner to executive leadership, ensuring fiscal integrity across a diverse portfolio. This is not a traditional "back-office" role; it is an invitation to steer complex financial operations, influence long-term growth, and manage sophisticated accounting life cycles for a stable, expanding industry leader in the Greater Ontario area.
What You’ll Do
Orchestrate comprehensive accounting operations for a multi-faceted portfolio of construction and real estate entities.
Engineer complex financial entries for property acquisitions, loan closings, and detailed settlement statements.
Drive the month-end, quarterly, and annual closing cycles to ensure precision and GAAP compliance.
Champion the audit process by synthesizing internal data and serving as the primary liaison for external examiners.
Execute advanced job-costing methodologies to monitor project profitability and financial health.
Manage sophisticated corporate banking activities, including cash flow optimization and multifaceted reconciliations.
Advocate for the organization during property tax appeal processes through meticulous documentation and analysis.
Leverage JD Edwards (JDE) to its full potential to streamline reporting and enhance data transparency.
Synthesize raw financial data into actionable insights using advanced Excel modeling (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs).
What You Bring
Industry Expertise: A minimum of 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience specifically within the Real Estate or Construction sectors.
Technical Mastery: Deep hands-on proficiency with JD Edwards (JDE) is an absolute requirement for this role.
Specialized Knowledge: Proven track record in cost segregation, job costing, and the nuances of loan closing journal entries.
Multi-Entity Fluency: Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent financial workflows across various corporate structures.
Analytical Rigor: Expert-level Excel skills and a sharp eye for the granular details of complex financial reporting.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Logistical Fit: Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Ontario, CA (under one hour) to support on-site operations.
