Senior QA Automation Engineer (Playwright)

Location: Remote/Hybrid

Experience: 5+ years

Duration: 12+ months

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks that ensure the quality and reliability of our software. You'll work closely with developers to embed testing throughout the development lifecycle and drive a culture of quality.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright
  • Build and maintain scalable, reliable test automation frameworks
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing
  • Collaborate with developers to define test strategy and improve testability
  • Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution
  • Analyze test results and provide actionable quality metrics/reporting
  • Mentor other QA engineers and promote automation best practices

Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional QA/test automation experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright (or comparable framework, with willingness to standardize on Playwright)
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for test automation
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid understanding of software testing methodologies (functional, regression, API, E2E)
  • Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Nice to Have
  • Experience testing real-time or mission-critical systems
  • Experience with API testing tools and performance/load testing
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure) and containerized test environments
  • Familiarity with GenAI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and cloud-based AI services
