Job Title- Senior Oracle Developer

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Developer with strong expertise in Oracle database development, PL/SQL programming, performance tuning, and data warehousing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Oracle 19c, Shell scripting, ETL processes, and database optimization techniques. This role requires excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills and offers a fully remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Oracle database applications using PL/SQL and SQL.
  • Develop and optimize complex stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, and SQL queries.
  • Create and maintain Shell scripts to automate database operations and execute SQL scripts.
  • Analyze and improve Oracle database performance using execution plans, query optimization, indexing strategies, and database statistics.
  • Design and implement efficient database schemas, data models, and partitioning strategies.
  • Develop and support ETL processes and data warehouse solutions.
  • Create and maintain materialized views, table functions, collections, analytical functions, and transportable tablespaces.
  • Perform database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Monitor database health, troubleshoot production issues, and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development and database enhancements.
  • Document database designs, development standards, and technical solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of Oracle PL/SQL development experience.
  • 5+ years of client-server application development using Oracle 19c, PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, and TOAD.
  • 5+ years of experience with Oracle performance tuning, including Query Optimizer, Execution Plans, Indexes, and SQL optimization.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Table Functions, Table Partitioning, Collections, Analytical Functions, Materialized Views, Query Rewrite, and Transportable Tablespaces.
  • 3+ years of experience developing Unix Shell scripts (Bash, KornShell, Bourne Shell, or similar) to invoke SQL scripts.
  • 2+ years of experience with Data Warehouse concepts and ETL processes.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle database design, data modeling, and schema optimization.
  • Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance.
  • Strong SQL query tuning and indexing experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with data integration tools such as Actian or Pentaho.
  • Knowledge of additional database platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale database environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
  • Experience documenting database designs, technical solutions, and development standards.
