Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Data Center Lead Cable Technician to oversee Inside Plant (ISP) cabling operations within a high-performance data center environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on data center experience, strong knowledge of fiber-optic installation standards, and the ability to lead installation teams while ensuring accuracy, safety, and adherence to project specifications.
This role is responsible for guiding daily installation activities, maintaining documentation through ACC software, training technicians on best-practice methods, and supporting the delivery of reliable, scalable, and compliant infrastructure builds.
Key Responsibilities
-Lead and oversee daily fiber-optic and copper cabling installations, including routing, labeling, and termination within ISP environments
-Utilize ACC (Advanced Construction Controls) or similar platforms for real-time documentation, project updates, and issue tracking
-Ensure installation work aligns with project specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements
-Train and mentor field technicians on installation best practices, safety protocols, and documentation procedures
-Maintain accurate as-built documentation, redlines, and cable records
-Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and installation plans
-Support coordination of project schedules, material needs, and workflow execution
Summary of Position:
The Cable Installation Lead will create, supervise and maintain quality management policies and procedures by project standard requirements. They will also ensure the adherence to project specific specs and assist in coordinating the daily operational activities, to maintain and develop agreed organizational performance plans within agreed budgets.
Duties And Responsibilities
Monitors in-house installation teams as well as subcontract actions for contract compliance, monitors risk and contributes suggestions for risk mitigation
Facilitates a culture of continuous process improvement among management team, providing resources and collaborating to implement processes that are streamlined and compliant
Document control including document management systems
Prepare quality plans for various field construction activities and inspections
Perform quality audits of on-site construction activities
Safety training was required by position
Paperwork filing and maintenance as needed
Essential Education And Qualifications
Able to communicate technical information to field personnel as well as management
Must have good verbal and written communication skills
Technical efficiency & knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Excellent organizational and documentation skills
Strong communication and leadership abilities for team training and cross functional coordination
Familiarity with safety standards and compliance requirements (OSHA, NEC, etc.)

BICSI Technician or Installer
FOA Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT)
OSHA 10/30
PMP or similar project coordination experience (for lead roles)

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
