Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IBM z/OS Automation Engineer for a remote contract opportunity with IBM. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience migrating CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS and strong REXX programming skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support migration from CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS.

  • Develop and maintain automation solutions using REXX.

  • Work with IBM System Automation Policy Database (PDB).

  • Support mainframe automation, system operations, startup, and shutdown activities.

  • Work with NetView for z/OS and IBM System Automation for z/OS.

  • Assist with automation configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and migration activities.

Mandatory Technical Skills

  • CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS migration – MUST HAVE

  • Strong REXX programming skills.

  • IBM System Automation for z/OS.

  • NetView for z/OS.

  • TSO/ISPF and strong JCL skills.

  • System Automation Policy Database (PDB).

  • 5+ years of experience in a Mainframe Operations environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • z/OS system operations, configuration, startup, and shutdown.

  • SMP/E.

  • Knowledge of other IBM Z technologies and competing mainframe automation products.

  • Experience with fully automated IBM Z system configurations.

Important Requirement

Candidates must have direct, hands-on experience migrating CA OPS/MVS to IBM Tivoli System Automation for z/OS. General mainframe automation experience alone is not sufficient.
