Job Summary
We are seeking a MATLAB Mechanical Engineer / Simulation Engineer with strong expertise in MATLAB-based modeling and simulation to support the design and optimization of advanced semiconductor equipment systems.
This role focuses on physics-based and data-driven simulations (thermal, flow, and system-level modeling) to improve product performance, reliability, and design efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, process, controls, and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop MATLAB/Simulink models for component and subsystem simulation
- Build physics-based and reduced-order models (ROMs) for thermal, flow, and system behavior
- Perform numerical simulations, parameter estimation, optimization, and sensitivity analysis
- Define simulation assumptions, boundary conditions, and validation criteria
- Validate models using experimental data (DOE, tool data, characterization)
- Collaborate with design, process, and manufacturing teams on simulation strategies
- Support design reviews, risk assessments, and performance improvements
- Create simulation reports, visualizations, and technical documentation
- Develop DOE plans and simulation-driven test strategies
- Correlate simulation results with hardware testing and real-world performance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Physics / Applied Mathematics (or related)
- 8+ years of experience in simulation/modeling (or MS with 6+ years)
- Strong expertise in MATLAB (must-have)
- Experience with Simulink (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Numerical methods
- Dynamic system modeling
- Model validation & verification (V&V)
- Experience working with experimental data for calibration and analysis
