Essnova is seeking a Senior Mission Systems Engineer to support multidisciplinary engineering, modeling and simulation, systems integration, and testing for U.S. Army aviation research and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop technical reports, plans, procedures, studies, and white papers.
  • Perform engineering analyses related to component design, integration, and testing.
  • Apply engineering models to requirements definition, system architecture, software design, and hardware design.
  • Develop and execute material, subcomponent, full-system, and environmental test plans.
  • Develop modeling and simulation environments, architectures, and system-verification plans.
  • Define technical performance measures and perform post-test analysis.
  • Support simulations, human-in-the-loop evaluations, and field testing involving aircraft, avionics, mission computers, sensors, or weapons systems.
  • Monitor program execution, present technical results, and oversee less-senior personnel.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • ABET-accredited degree in Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree with at least eight years of aviation/R&D test and modeling-and-simulation experience; master's degree with at least six years; or doctoral degree with at least six years of aviation/R&D test experience and three years of modeling-and-simulation experience.
  • Experience developing test plans, analyses, and technical reports.
  • Ability to present findings at technical interchange meetings and senior-level briefings.
  • Active Secret clearance; Interim Secret acceptable during onboarding.
  • Ability to work primarily onsite at Fort Eustis and travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Army aviation mission-systems or R&D experimentation experience.
  • Systems architecture, requirements, verification, avionics, sensors, weapons, or mission-computer experience.
  • Human-in-the-loop or field-testing experience.
