If you have the required skill set, education requirements, and experience, please click the submit button and follow the next steps. All positions are onsite, unless otherwise stated.

Senior Integration/Implementation Engineer:

CAS is a prime support contractor to the FAA Runway Status Lights Systems (RWSL) program office. The RWSL system integrates airport lighting equipment with approach and surface surveillance systems to provide a visual signal to pilots and vehicle operators indicating that it is unsafe to enter/cross or begin takeoff on runway. The system is fully automated based on inputs from surface and terminal surveillance systems. Airport surveillance sensor inputs are processed through light control logic that commands in-pavement lights to illuminate red when there is traffic on or approaching the runway.

We invite you to put your talents to work for us and our customers. We are searching for a motivated, responsible Senior Engineer ready to join our team of technical professionals who interact directly with our customers to bring about modernization to government mission-critical systems and infrastructure.

As a Senior Integration/Implementation Engineer, you will support all aspects of the RWSL Sustainment Program's systems engineering task activities involving the design and development, test, installation, implementation, integration, and transition of systems, components, and equipment. By doing so, this will enhance the transition from development to the implementation team more smoothly.

The Senior Integration/Implementation Engineer is responsible for both engineering efforts for the development projects on the sustainment program as well as coordinating the installation and test of these system improvements at individual airports across our National Aerospace System (NAS). Each project is focused on a specific RWSL sub-system / component. The candidate will be responsible for working with subcontractor(s) and facilitating the System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), through to the Critical Design Review (CDR). This also includes engineering efforts to integrate new components into the RWLS. Once the product is fully vetted and the approach to implementing it is understood, coordinating the installation and test completes the circle.

Integration includes physical installation, interconnection, configuration, networking and Security, and Software modifications provided by the component manufacturer. The RWSL team manages and maintains the master Verification Requirements Traceability Matrix (VRTM) which includes allocating requirements appropriately to each of the development projects. All system integration and testing will be performed at the FAA's RWSL lab facility in Oklahoma City, OK.

Implementation includes developing deployment and installation schedules and presenting them to the stakeholders at individual airports across the US. Negotiating the schedules with local Air Traffic, Airport operations, FAA Technical Operations, and airfield access to allow for the installation and potential airfield closures and operational system outages. For certain components, identifying and procuring the help of skilled trades subcontractors (licensed airfield electrical contractors), as well as managing their work in the field is also required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate with subcontractor to develop system designs to reflect system requirements. Facilitate SRRs, PDRs, and CDRs with the subcontractor.
  • Manage and track technical and program requirements. Develop and maintain various VRTMs. Allocation of requirements among developmental systems, subsystems, modules, and non- developmental/commercial components.
  • Develop system test plans and provide support to second level engineering for system tests utilizing these plans.
  • Support second level engineering in developing and conducting engineering studies for qualifying replacement components in the RWSL System.
  • Support second level engineering to Integrate replacement components into the RWSL System, develop configuration requirements and procedures.
  • Revise system documentation such as System Software Documents (SDP, SRS, SDD, etc.) Interface documents (IDD, ICD, etc.) as required.
  • Perform technical analyses related to hardware/software design, system interfaces, hardware/software logic, hardware/software maintenance, and address alternatives to resolve any issues, and recommend alternative design features to satisfy technical issues and concerns related to cost and schedule.
  • Provide recommendations on configuration management of RWSL sustainment configurable items. Develop technical installation documentation.
  • Airport stakeholder installation coordination.
  • Administer competitive bids to prospective installation subcontractors.
  • All aspects of subcontractor management including contract execution and award, submittals, QA/QC, Installation and inspection, status reporting, change management, invoice processing and contract closeout.
